What this website collects, why, how long it is kept and how to ask us to delete it. Written for this site specifically, not copied from a template.
Who we are
This site is miamiwindowtreatments.com, operated by Urbanika Shades, a window treatment company serving Miami-Dade and Broward. You can reach us at [email protected] or on (786) 394-7172.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We are a local installer, not a lead broker.
What you give us on purpose
The quote form. Your name, phone, email, the product you are interested in, your ZIP code and whatever you write in the message. We need the phone or the email to answer you, and the ZIP to know whether the address is inside our service area.
The WhatsApp button. Before it opens the chat, it asks you three things: what you are looking for, how many windows and whether it is a condo, a house or a commercial space. The ZIP code there is optional. Those answers travel with you into the WhatsApp conversation, so you do not have to repeat them, and a copy is saved on our side.
Text messages, only if you ask for them. The quote form has a box to agree to receive text messages about your request. It is unticked and optional: leaving it blank does not change your quote. If you tick it, we keep a record that you did, when and on which form, because that record is the proof of your consent.
Once the conversation moves to WhatsApp, WhatsApp is a service of Meta and their privacy terms apply to the chat itself. We only control what happens on this website.
What the site records on its own
Where you came from. If you arrive from a Google ad or a campaign link, the URL carries identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, utm_*). The site stores them in a first-party cookie for 90 days, together with the first page you landed on, and attaches them if you later contact us. That is how we know which advertising is worth paying for. It is not used to build a profile of you and it is not shared with anyone.
A one-way fingerprint of your IP address. When you complete the WhatsApp questions we store a SHA-256 hash of your IP address, not the address itself. It exists to spot automated abuse of the form. It cannot be reversed into your IP.
Your language. A cookie remembers whether you are reading the English or the Spanish version.
We do not use tracking pixels from social networks and we do not run advertising cookies on this site.
Where it goes and how long it stays
Form submissions are emailed to us, stored inside this website so nothing is lost if an email fails, and added to the customer management system (CRM) we use to follow up on quotes and appointments. That provider processes them only on our behalf. The WhatsApp answers are kept in the site database, capped at the last 500 entries: older ones are dropped automatically.
We keep enquiries for as long as it takes to quote and complete the job, and afterwards while the warranty on that installation is alive, because we hold the fabric and hardware list for what we installed. If a quote goes nowhere, ask us and we will delete it.
The site runs on our own hosting in the United States. Outgoing email is sent through our mail provider so that it arrives instead of landing in spam.
Text messages (SMS)
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as the platform that delivers our text messages, is permitted only to provide that service. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent: this information will not be shared with any third parties.
You can stop the texts at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP. Message and data rates may apply and frequency varies with your project. The full conditions are in our Terms of service.
What you can ask us to do
Write to [email protected] and ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We answer within one business day. We do not ask you to fill in a form to exercise this.
You can also clear the cookies from your browser at any time. The site works normally without them: you only lose the attribution, which affects us and not you.
Children
This site is aimed at people hiring window treatments for a home or a business. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and there is nothing on it directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes we update the date below. We are not going to change what we collect and tell you afterwards.
